Nitto Denko Corporation, a major client of Unius, was a recipient of the 2014 Intellectual Property Achievement Award for Patents which is co-presented each year by the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

The award was presented in a ceremony held at Tokai University Club in Tokyo on 18 April 2014. Presentation of the award was timed to coincide with the date designated as “Invention Day” in Japan, which commemorates passage of the law which heralded the beginning of Japan’s modern patent system on 18 April 1885 (Meiji 18). Three other company recipients, together with four individual recipients, were honored with similar awards during the same ceremony.

In designating Nitto for receipt of the award, the JPO and METI jointly recognized Nitto for Nitto’s effective use of patents in connection with Nitto’s proprietary “roll-to-panel” system for manufacture and distribution of liquid crystal display (LCD) panel products.
